Irides Announced as a Finalist for Technology Company
of the Year and Awarded Best Workplace for Commuters
In a year where Irides has experienced significant growth, the company
is pleased to announce that it is a finalist for Technology Company
of the Year, an award sponsored by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce
in Arlington, Virginia. In addition, the EPA has Irides as one of the
DC metro area's Best Workplace for Commuters.
On November 4, 2004, at the Sheraton National Hotel
in Arlington, Virginia, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce
will announce the winner of its Technology Company
of the Year award. In order to qualify as a finalist
for the award, Irides had to make a positive impact
on the Arlington community through its hard work and
its persistent development of high-quality services,
products and marketing and sales initiatives.
Among the company's accomplishments, Irides has increased
its number of clients by 60 percent, forged new partnerships
to develop an end-to-end development and hosting solution,
and retained 95 percent of its clients from 2003 to
2004.
On October 14, Irides received an award from the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S.
Department of Transportation (DOT) recognizing it as
one of the area's Best Workplaces for Commuters. To
qualify, Irides has created innovative solutions to
commuting challenges faced by employers and employees.
Irides addresses commuter concerns in a variety of
ways: reducing expensive parking, providing flexible
schedules, offering public transportation stipends,
boasting a high retention rate, and considering the
environmental impacts associated with drive-alone commuting.
As the EPA explains, this award is "a mark of
excellence for environmentally and employee-friendly
organizations."
